Opportunities for Communities, Inc. current courses and related projects in Haiti include:

• OfC is fortunate to have partnered with Mr. Amos Filius, headmaster of a school he founded in 1998 to serve the Restavek children of the Simon neighborhood of Les Cayes, Haiti.  OfC students have worked with Amos to develop vocational training opportunities (sewing and cooking) for the children.  One class of OfC/University of Massachusetts students has developed a personal health curriculum for the Restavek children (Spring 2010)
• Sponsorship of the Ouragan (“Hurricanes”), an under-16 boys soccer team in Les Cayes, Haiti.  In addition to uniforms, cleats, and soccer balls, we have provided members of the team scholarships (schools are not free in Haiti).
•  OfC also offers programs that focus on sustainable and “green” rural and agricultural development approaches.
